Book Your Table

We absolutely LOVE hosting your weddings here at The Gamekeeper's Inn and creating a day that's perfect for you is a wonderful feeling. So we've asked some of our brides to relive their special day with us by filling out a little questionnaire so we could share a little bit of the magic with you too!

Please tell us yours and your husbands names Felicity & Richard Ling

The date of your wedding with us? 30th November 2019

Tell us how you met? On Tinder! Although our first date was at the Airedale Heifer. Our parents live a stone’s throw from each other so goodness knows how we hadn’t met before.

How did he or she propose? On the top of Mount Snowdon, back to the place he told me he loved me.

What was the theme for your day, and did you have a colour scheme? We had aubergine with wine colours and dusky pinks.

Where did you hold your ceremony? At the Gamekeeper's Inn

Why did you choose The Gamekeeper’s Inn as your reception venue? It’s a beautiful venue with an amazing countryside. Richard was training for an Iron Man the year we booked and he did all of his training around Grassington and Bolton abbey.

When did you know you had found THE dress? I knew exactly the dress I wanted and 30 dresses later I walked out with the exact dress I knew I wanted at first.

Who were your bridesmaids and what did they wear? My sister Amy was maid of honour, my two longest friends were bridesmaids Kayleigh and Louise. Then we had our niece Sophie and our daughter Hattie as flower girls. The oldies wore grey and little one’s ivory.

Tell us about your floral arrangements They were rustic looking with quite a lot of foliage. Dark reds and wine with some dusky pink.

Tell us about the personal touches you added to the day We had a lot of fairy lights and candles. Subtle lighting in winter is beautiful!

How did you feel as you walked down the aisle? I felt so nervous but as soon as I saw Richard it was like no one else was there. Very cliché. The room was filled with love!

What was the most memorable moment of your day? Walked back up the aisle as Mr and Mrs Ling!

Which song did you choose for your first dance and why? ‘This Will Be (an Everlasting Love)’ by Natalie Cole. It’s fun and upbeat and we knew that would get people up to join us on the dance floor!

Which food and drinks did you choose to provide for your guests on the day? We had prawn cocktail, mushrooms, chicken and gammon and sticky toffee pudding! It was AMAZING!!! Everyone has complimented it!!

Tell us about your wedding cake I made it! A four-tier stress filled cake!

What music and entertainment did you have on the day? We had the DJ recommended by you! Ed, he was absolutely amazing!

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Iceland! We went for a winter break 3 days after the wedding.

What was the most challenging aspect of planning your wedding? Dealing with the photographer who cancelled at 1:30am the morning of the wedding!!

Was there anything you wish you had known before? Not a thing.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding? Have fun! Have every single thing you want and just remember why you’re marrying.

A short review... "We had the most amazing wedding there. Every single person working was amazing and could not do enough for us. Thank you so much for giving us the most memorable and enjoyable day of our lives!"
